On Abundance

In this moment
there is no other,
in this moment
I am enough.

In this moment
there is no other,
in this moment
I have enough.

In this moment
there is no other,
in this moment
there is enough.

In this moment
of infinite possibilities,
from all of the possible
I imagine enough.

3 ideas + 3 questions on abundance

Abundance is a plentiful supply of something good. Viewed through the lens of abundance, the present always provides enough. Enough for you to be enough. Enough for you to have enough. And enough to imagine and create beautiful possibilities of the future. Ergo abundance has two branches, the branch of sufficiency and the branch of possibility.

Sufficiency is abundance realized in the present moment. With sufficiency there is always enough. You are always enough. This present moment is always enough. There is always enough to meet today's needs. There is always enough to meet tomorrow’s needs. There will always be a consistent supply of enough. The enoughness of sufficiency brings presence and contentment to life. With presence and contentment comes satisfaction and expansion of mental horizons including an openness to possibility.

Possibility is abundance viewed through the potential of tomorrow. When there is enough and enough leads to satisfaction in the present, the opportunity to imagine meaningful and beautiful new possibilities emerges. Possibility expands today with visions of promising futures of tomorrow full of new opportunities. Possibility brings the attitude of dreaming big and the foundations for bringing better being and doing to life. There are an unlimited number of possibilities the imagination can dream up. Possibility needs discernment and decisiveness to bring the best possibilities to life. Knowing that tomorrow holds the growth, resources and opportunities to bring big dreams to life reinforces a sense of sufficiency.

Ergo sufficiency and prosperity are interdependent. Sufficiency creates openness to possibility. Possibility leads to deeper confidence in the present and sufficiency. The continuous interplay between the two branches of abundance lays the foundations for prosperity. Prosperity is a state of thriving, flourishing and expanding all aspects of human life — physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and relational. Prosperity brings life to a place of higher and wider wholeness.

Abundance is also accompanied by an expansion of generosity, creativity, trust, belonging, contribution and collaboration.

The opposite of abundance is scarcity. Scarcity is a limited supply of something good. Scarcity views resources and possibilities as inherently limited. Scarcity is truly an abundance of limitation. Limitation leads to a belief in insufficiency which sees lack as a natural state of being. In lack, there is not enough to meet basic needs. In lack, challenges are seen as threats that prolong scarcity and outnumber opportunities. Lack undermines the present’s potential to use imagination to discover possibility. In lack there is an abundance of impossibility. Scarcity is accompanied by fear, hopelessness, anxiety, stress and despair. With scarcity’s focus on limitation, it fosters competition for essential resources and drives an intense fixation on consumption in the quest to fulfill unrealistic or superficial desires. Scarcity fosters discontentment. And discontentment promotes general dissatisfaction with life.

3 insights on abundance

Abundance is not about providing everyone on this planet with a life of luxury —rather, it’s about providing all with a life of possibility.

I’m going to dream so big that people think I’m crazy. I will never be afraid to fail. I will never think that anything is impossible, because it will become impossible for me. I will have a mindset of abundance and I will never be thinking scarcity.

Abundance, like everything else in the universe, is simply a specific arrangement of energy and information. With our intention, we can change the energy, add new information, and manifest whatever we want, need, or desire. Abundance is unlimited, unbounded, and always available.
